Era Crew is Ready for Donington Historic Festival

This weekend Era Motorsport is excited to be competing at the 2024 Donington Historic Festival hosted by Motor Racing Legends.

Coming straight off a win in the Graham Hill Trophy at the 81st Goodwood Members’ Meeting, we’re excited to once again be running the race-winning TVR Griffith 400 in a high-prestige race, this time in the form of the Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup!

The TVR, driven by Miles Griffiths will be up against a field of Pre-66 GTs, Touring Cars, and Sports Cars for a three hour endurance race around Donington Park Circuit on Saturday evening, as well as a 60 minute qualifying session ahead of the race that morning.

The race is special in the historic racing world, as rarely do the cars get to run longer than an hour at a time. The field will even have a required refueling pit stop!

Sunday the team will switch to the spritely ex-works 1959 Lotus Elite for the Historic Motor Racing News Pre-’63 GT race.

The lightweight Lotus has been in the Era Motorsport UK workshop for a few months for maintenance, but is ready for its first race of the 2024 calendar as it prepares for the Peter Auto Spa Classic next month.

While shorter than the Pall Mall, the Pre-’63 GT Race will still be a small test of endurance at one-hour long. A 30-minute qualifying session will also take place to set the field ahead of the race on Sunday.

“We’ve had a lot of time at Donington recently,” said Kyle Tilley. “It’s one of our main testing facilities for the UK workshop so we’re no strangers!

“It’ll be great to hit the track competitively this time, and of course, the TVR gets to make its first appearance since its win at Goodwood, so we’re excited to see it start in another high-prestige event as it takes on its first RAC race.”
